Secret

April 17th, 2008 · No Comments

Body slimmers just keep on getting better. And really they’re not necessarily all about slimming, but rather shaping and making your clothes look better. Pencil skirts, skinny capri pants, figure hugging dresses…all creating problems that Secret Slimmers shapewear line is reading to smooth out for us.

* Unless you’re a die-hard thong fan or go commando - then you’ve dealt with "VPL" (Visible Panty Lines).

Answer: Tummy Shaper Pantyhose. Plus, they have a Thigh and Tummy Shaper Capri that’s supposed to stay cool even in hot weather.

* That sexy little cocktail dress would be gorgeous on you if it wasn’t interrupted by lumps and bumps, but holding your breath all day to maintain that smooth line is not an option.

Answer: I felt pretty awkward squishing & squirming (and giggling) my way into the Secret High Waist Shaper Panty. But after a bit they were actually comfortable and I was surprised they really made a difference to my jersey knit dress.

colcci.jpgIf you are trying to make a statement with your style Colcci is the up and coming brand for you.  This Brazilian fashion line is hitting North America by storm with Gisele Bundchen heading up an edgy marketing campaign.

The Spring Summer 2008 collection is called "Push the Button." An elevator will give you the possibility to choose different floors, each of them will bring you to a specific issue of the collection. The basement floor is dark, chaotic for a look more casual, clean and washed.

The first floor is a musical studio where the outfits are elaborated with shines and strong colors. Finally the second floor hosts a casino and disco club where you will notice a lot of luxury, shines, studs and metal.

heather-hyde3.pngHeather Hyde Jewelry is inspired by old world royalty, Hollywood glamour, family heirlooms, and nature, is made from a wide variety of different mediums.

The collection is a favorite among such trendsetting celebrities as Mischa Barton, Eva Longoria, Halle Berry, Rihanna, Christina Ricci and Gabrielle Union.

All these jewels are handmade, instead of cast or machine-made. Every piece is uniquely different. She also creates one-of-a-kind pieces using vintage materials.

Army

Army Navy shoe sale.pngHey Alberta and British Columbia…it’s that time….the legendary Army & Navy shoe sale starts April 16 @ 8am, and runs for ten days.

100,000 pairs of designer shoes Hilary Radley, Bebe, Richard Tyler, Steve Madden all for under $39.99. Prices start at $9.99. Seriously sweet shoe deals.

This is the last family owned department store in Canada. Jackie Cohen is a well known philanthropist (Tom Jones often makes surprise appearances at her fundraisers) who is credited with resurrecting the chain a few years ago. Their annual shoe sale is one of reasons!

Last time I was in Alberta I scored with a pair of knee height sage green sued Puma boots. I can only hope for more finds. Oh, and there’s men shoes too.
